OBJECTIVE:
Some say the music industry’s a dying industry, and to keep it alive it entails a new level of creativity, knowledge, and vision. Independent artist are an impactful force that cater to a culture: who can represent a new idea or embrace creative variations of art, but understanding the business elements of the industry can barricade these new artists or stop them completely. With that, the music industry has become an industry in need of a source of guidance that requires someone or something who understands its ins and outs and can construct a solid foundation from which these aspirants can learn. Live with Steve Lobel has been a radio show that interviews distinctive key players within the industry: producers, engineers, journalists, publicist, artists, mangers & music executives. Its main purpose is to touch upon a variety of sectors to exemplify the vast opportunities that can help independent artist grow and expand their enterprises. The show is broadcasted through Blogtalk Radio and has reached listeners from across the globe. Its goal now: to reach and tap into another form of medium to channel through a larger group of listeners.
COMPANY BACKGROUND:
Live with Steve Lobel began with the purpose of Steve Lobel finding a way to answer all questions and inquires directed towards him by various independent artists and aspirants of the industry. The show was a way to bring true experts of a specific topic to those requesting the information, so that, one, correct information is translated, and, two, an authentic source of the topic is represented. As the show progressed, more listeners tuned into the radio show to pick up on tips and strategies for success. It became a primary source of knowledge and listeners got a chance to relate their own interests with the various guests broadcasted on the show.
SERVICES:
The show currently runs once a week on Wednesday evenings from 11pm est. / 8pm pst. to 12am est. / 9pm pst. Listeners either call in or log into the show through their facebook or twitter accounts. Each show is constructed to cater to a specific topic where it be Music Journalism, Entertainment Law or Music Publishing. Steve Lobel begins the show with the introduction of his team who then introduces the topic of the week. Steve Lobel describes his knowledge and experience on the topic and leads the show into a discussion. The essence of the show lies within the numerous guests that are brought to the show every week. With Steve Lobel, the guest speaker, message boards, and callers, the show lunges into a discussion of background experiences, controversies of the topic, its history, its barriers, and all other relative information.
FUTURE PLANS:
For the last year, Live with Steve Lobel has reached numerous listeners. The show has compiled a broad demographics of listeners variant in age, race, musical preference, and interests. Its next step is to expand to Satellite Radio.
